Love the idea and works really well in my country, uk. However it is useless when actually abroad. Have tried to use it in spain,france and belguim all i get is the same words back. Very annoying. Back to the phrase book for me.

Mike, I just discovered your web app and think it’s great, especially on the iPhone! Do you have any plans to make it a native app with the SDK? I’m sure people would be happy to pay a few bucks for it in the AppStore….

Also, I have a simple feature request. I’d like to use the current web app to try to have an interactive converstaion with someone in another language, for example betweeen an English speaker and a Spanish speaker. This would be useful for talking with a contractor who doesn’t speak English, ordering in a restaurant, etc. The feature request is to add a link at the bottom of the translation page that allows you to switch the direction of the language translation. For example, after translating from English to Spanish, such as when asking a question, you could click the link to translate back from Spanish to English so the other person could type in their response. This would make it sort of like a universal translator. Does this make sense?

this is a great app. However without romanized alphabet for English to japanese I cannot use. Will this. Be added anytime soon?

@carlo, I’m really not sure what to tell you. I haven’t made any changes to the mobile translator in over a month. Is it possible your IE software updated or changed recently?

im using windows mobile 6.0 and using the pocket IE with it… why is mobile translator not functioning as it used to… i mean after typing the word noting happens if i press ok on th GO button or press enter (which earlier worked fine) help :)

Love the site thanks! Maybe add a reverse translator feature that reverses the translation back to the original language to see if it translates back, automactically. Composition is different with each language thanks again.

Still loving it! Obviously runs faster on wifi.

I’d like to see an App store version – I would easily pay a few bucks for a good, fast translator.

A history for your searches would be great, too. Or being able to create favorites.

Love it! BUT it would be great for non-Roman alphabets (Japanese for me, but I could see it being useful for Russian, Chinese, Hebrew etc.) if there were an option to see the results in Roman characters.

Great app. Works with E61 nokia. The app would be awesome if one could copy and paste the translates text. It does not capture. This way one can cut and paste into sms text.
