About

5 things about me:

  1. I live in New York City, and have since July 2004.  I still miss living in Colorado, mostly for the winters and summers, and pretty much the springs and autumns as well.
  2. Happily married and father to a cute, funny, handsome baby boy.
  3. I have been snowboarding since 1989, and skiing since 1983-ish.  I spoil myself as often as possible.
  4. I’m a Senior Software Engineer at Etsy.com.  I know my way around Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP quite well.
  5. I’m fairly easy to find online.

Projects

One tsp.I’m interested in mobile application development. I have a few projects I’ve been working on including a personal recipe manager, which I call “One tsp.” It’s pretty simple to use and has great access customized for your mobile phone.

I’ve also written a mobile translator for iPhones which wraps Google’s Translate API in a web app. I think they’ve since written a nicer one than mine. :)

If you live in New York and enjoy burgers from the Shake Shack, you may want to check out the mobile interface I setup to see their webcam.

If you haven’t found it already, check out my blog to see what I’m reading and working on.  Most of this is fairly technical with a decent amount of coverage on mobile platforms, cloud computing, and web development and operations.

Velocity 2009

I gave a talk at Velocity titled “How To Get To Second Base with Your CDN.” Slides are now available over at Slide Share.  Following this talk, I wrote a related post about caching URLs with query strings.
